International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan announced that a NATO service member was killed following militants attack in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday. "An International Security Assistance Force service member died following an insurgent attack in eastern Afghanistan today." (ISAF) said in a statement. The statement did not disclose further information regarding the exact location of the incident and nationality of the deceased soldier. Meanwhile, (ISAF) announced in another statement that a senior Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan leader, Qari Hamza, was killed following a joint military operation by Afghan and coalition security forces in northern Kunduz province on Monday. "As the security force approached Hamza's location, he attacked the combined security force. The security force engaged Hamza and killed him," the statement added. According to ISAF, the man, who was also Known as Khadim, was an explosives expert responsible for recruiting and training insurgents for suicide attacks. He was also responsible for planning and leading multiple attacks against Afghan and coalition forces throughout the region.
