Khanshin District Has Reportedly Fallen to Taliban Control in Afghanistan

Heavy clashes continue in Khanshin district of southern Helmand province in Afghanistan amid reports the control of the district has fallen to the control of the Taliban militants. 
A security official speaking on the condition of anonymity confirmed that the Taliban militants have overrun some security posts which were providing security to the district administrative compound. 
The official further added that clashes still continue between the Taliban militants and the security forces after the control of the security posts were lost. 
He said at least security personnel lost their lives during the attack and some others were wounded, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press). 
In the meantime, a source in the Afghan Border Police forces said the Afghan security personnel still has control in some parts of the district. 
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far. 
Helmand is among the volatile provinces in southern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in its various districts and frequently carry out insurgency activities.
