Unknown gunmen on Saturday killed five women and one man in Kandahar province in southern Afghanistan, an official said.
The women were employees at the Kandahar international airport and "were on their way to work when the gunmen opened fire, killing the five and their driver," DPA quoted on Saturday a spokesman for the governor of Kandahar as saying.
The attackers fled the area after the incident and a search operation was launched by the city's police force.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
