Daesh loyalists attempting to expand foothold in Afghanistan

The loyalists of Daesh terrorist group are attempting to expand their foothold in Afghanistan despite receiving a major blow in eastern Nangarhar province, Khaama Press reported on Sunday.

The officials in eastern Ghazni province have confirmed that the terror group is attempting to recruit fighters in the outskirts of Ghazni and bordering regions of the restive Zabul province.

A lawmaker representing Ghazni province in the Afghan parliament has confirmed that the group has been successful somehow in the recruitment of fighters in this province.

Lawmaker Mohammad Arif Rahmani said that they are aware of practical steps taken by the terror group in Ghazni which is a strategic province in the southeast and they have been trying to establish bases.

He said militants loyal to Daesh or having similar operations as Daesh terrorist group have been seen and are active in some parts of Ghazni and Zabul, including Jaghoori, Gilan, Khak-e-Afghan and some parts of Andar.
