An Australian woman was kidnapped from the center of Kabul city of Afghanistan

An Australian woman was kidnapped from the center of Kabul city of Afghanistan on Saturday evening by unknown gunmen as a search operation is underway for her release.
Security sources said the woman was working for a non-governmental organization and was abducted from Qala-e-Fatullah area where numerous aid workers have been abducted in the past, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
A source speaking on the condition of anonymity confirmed that the woman was working for Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief and Development and was kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
No group including the anti-government armed militant groups has so far claimed responsibility behind the abduction of the woman.
This comes as a female Indian aid worker was abducted from the vicinity of same area by unknown gunmen earlier in the month of June this year.
The female aid worker, Judith D'Souza was released late in the month of July and reunited with her family members by safely returning to India.
