Eight people were killed when Afghan security forces raided militants hideout in northeastern Badakhshan province early Sunday, a local official said. "Units of security forces raided Taliban hideout in Soch area of Jerm district in the wee hours of Sunday and the operation continued for three hours during which six militants including commander Mullah Sayed Shah were killed," district governor Noor Aqa Nadiri told Xinhua. A policeman and a civilian were also killed in the clash, he added.
