Afghan policemen killed

Five policemen have been brutally killed in restive Helmand province, Khaama news agency reported.

A security source who did not want to be named said that the five policemen were first made unconscious and then murdered with a knife in their security post last night.

He said the incident took place in Sar Gora area of Lashkargah city, the capital of Helmand province, and that the weapons belonging to the martyred soldiers were also taken away from the post.

Further details into the incident have not been revealed yet but Taliban group has carried out several tricky attacks of this type in the past.

At least nine policemen embraced martyrdom and two others sustained injuries in a Taliban tricky attack in Musa Qala District of this province last week.

Mirza Khan Rahimi, Governor of Helmand said that policemen were caught unprepared as they were told that other policemen are visiting their check post but they turned to be insurgents in police uniform.
Taliban later claimed responsibility for the attack.
