He said at least 18 militants were also killed, 20 militants were injured and 22 others were detained during the operations. According to Azimi, at least 17 clearing operations are currently being conducted in Badakhshan, Helmand, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Herat, Kunduz, Balkh, Paktia, Wardak, Nangarhar and Laghman provinces. Afghan army soldiers also confiscated and neutralized 41 rounds of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during the operations, Azimi said. The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.
