At least 20 Taliban militants were killed following military operations in various provinces of Afghanistan in the past 24 hours.
The Interior Ministry of Afghanistan said in a statement the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives.
The statement further added that the operations were conducted in Kandahar, Nimroz and Kabul provinces, according to (Khaama Press).
At least 12 Taliban militants were also injured and five others were detained during the operation, the statement added.
Interior ministry officials also said Afghan security forces also confiscated various types of light and heavy weapons along with ammunition and explosives.
Afghan police forces discovered and seized seven improvised explosive device (IED) during operations in Kandahar.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
