Six insurgents were killed in a fighting erupted between two insurgent groups and six others were killed in separate military actions.
Officials in the Afghan Ministry of Defense say that the fighting between two insurgent groups erupted in Achin District of eastern Nangarhar province yesterday where in the exchange of fire six insurgents killed, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
Officials added that the fighting erupted over a dispute of timber between the members of the groups of Mullah Dawoud and Mullah Asmatullah. According to the official, both groups are among the armed opponents of the government.
In the meantime, a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior states that six insurgents were killed in military operations across the country.
According to the statement the operations were conducted in different parts of the country in past 24 hours in which Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and personnel from the National Directorate of Security personnel took part.
The statement adds that one insurgent was also arrested and 18 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), were discovered and defused by the security forces.
According to the statement the IEDs were freshly planted by the insurgents for destructive activities.
