A Palestinian was killed when a tunnel on the border with Egypt collapsed on Monday, according to Palestinian sources.

The man, identified as Mossa Jabir Mady, was repairing the tunnel in western Rafah when it crumbled, said the sources.

Egypt has launched a campaign to destroy the tunnels on the border the Gaza Strip, blaming them for smuggling firearms into the restless Sinai peninsula.
