A group of Jewish settlers on Monday broke into Al-Aqsa compound in occupied Jerusalem under the protection of Israeli soldiers.According to Palestinian sources, the settlers stormed the place and performed Talmudic rituals in the courtyard. The sources added that the Muslim students are stationed there to prevent settlers from intruding the mosque on the eve of the Jewish Passover holiday, which falls on Tuesday.Meanwhile, Israel has escalated its strict security measures in the Old City of Jerusalem due to the holidays preparations, deploying hundreds of special units personnel in streets, crossings and checkpoints of the city.
