Israel's army

Israeli troops on Tuesday shot and killed a Palestinian youth in clashes that broke out at a refugee camp near the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian medical sources said.
Hebron's Al Mizan Hospital said Mohammad Imad Jawabreh, 21, was admitted with serious wounds sustained during a confrontation with Israeli soldiers in the refugee camp of Al Aroub north of Hebron, but doctors could not save his life as his condition was too critical.
Another young Palestinian was injured by Israeli troops at a village in the west of Hebron, triggering clashes between dozens of stone-throwing youths and Israeli forces. A Jewish woman settler sustained minor injuries in the melee.
In the northern West Bank, dozens of Jewish settlers damaged Palestinian shops and smashed the windscreen of about 30 cars as they rampaged through the town of Howara and also pelted passing vehicles with stones at intersections outside the city of Nablus. There were no reports of injuries.
The youth's killing and escalating settler violence come amid soaring tension across the occupied West Bank over tight Israeli restrictions on access of Muslim worshippers to the Haram al Sharif mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.
