Israeli occupation forces on Monday shot and critically wounded a Palestinian young man near Bethlehem, for allegedly trying to run over a soldier at a military checkpoint, according to a Palestinian source.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement that it was informed by the Israeli military liaison that the young Palestinian was in serious condition, while Hebrew media reported that an Israeli soldier was lightly wounded.
