The Israeli Cabinet has decided not to remove the e-gates installed at the entrances of Al-Aqsa Mosque, causing tensions to rise in the holy shrine.
Meanwhile, as thousands of Jerusalemites flock to the mosque for Friday prayer, they have affirmed that they will not enter the mosque via the e-gates.
Secretary of Fatah Movement in Jerusalem Adnan Ghaith told Petra that the Israeli occupation forces deployed thousands of policemen in the streets and neighborhoods of Jerusalem and the Old City. Despite the Israeli measures, he added, hundreds of Palestinians performed Fajr prayer at the Al-Asbat Gate.
Ghaith noted that the Israeli forces have stormed houses and arrested activists and leaderships from Jerusalem. Further, the Israeli occupation forces prevented hundreds of Arab-Israelis from entering Jerusalem and erected dozens of checkpoints across the city
