On Saturday, a 14-year-old Palestinian girl was detained at Qalandiya checkpoint after Israeli forces claimed she had attempted a stabbing attack.
Luba al-Samri, Israeli police spokeswoman, said in a statement that the girl walked towards the checkpoint security forces and that she was ordered to stop but did not do so. According to the security she allegedly carried a knife in her hand, and she was detained without suffering from any injuries.
The Palestinian teenager is now being subjected to interrogation by Israeli security.
According to eyewitnesses, the girl was tackled, forced to the ground and handcuffed while other soldiers were aiming their guns at her.
It could not be seen that she carried a gun, but a man supposedly shouted that she was carrying one in her bag, after security had already handcuffed her.
Al-Samri later on stated that during the interrogation it was revealed that the girl had left her home with the intention of carrying out a terror attack with her knife.
Many human rights groups have begun sowing doubts about whether or not the raising number of Palestinians arrested on claims of knife attacks, were actually carrying any knives.
