Doha - Qna
Sudanese Political Parties and Organizations Authority on Thursday praised the efforts being exerted by the State of Qatar to establish peace in Darfur. Qatar will have a positive role in the enforcement of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur, the Authority\'\'s chairman Aboud Jaber told Qatar New Agency (QNA). This document would serve as basis for a comprehensive peace not only in the region but also in Sudan, said Jaber, calling on Darfur factions to join the peace process. The Darfur peace agreement is seen as a great addition to the peace process in Darfur since it has received a great consensus from the Darfur people and support from the international community, particularly the African Union and the United Nations. In this context, the Sudanese official called upon the State of Qatar to expand its role during the current phase of the agreement\'\'s implementation. Jaber, who welcomed the arrival of the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM)\'\'s delegation in Khartoum, describing it as a \"great political achievement ,\" urged LJM leaders to overcome all points of differences. Signed here on July 14 between the government of Sudan and the LJM, the Darfur peace agreement aims to end the eight year conflict in the restive region of Darfur. Khartoum said the peace document offers a good ground for peace and rebels can negotiate the integration of their combatants and their political participation in the central government but also into the institutions of the region On violence in Blue Nile and border state of South Kordofan, Jaber affirmed the Authority\'\'s support for the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and governmental positions aimed at achieving stability and monitoring an inclusive political process. He strongly condemned the use of violence by Sudan People\'\'s Liberation Movement (SPLM) \'\'s Northern Sector. About the new initiative announced recently by the Sudanese opposition, Jaber expressed support for unity, peace and dialogue, rejecting meanwhile any form of escalation seeking to topple the government. Leading elections in accordance with the Constitution and respect of the rule of law is the best way to bring out political change, said Jaber.
