Deputy Akram Shehayeb from the Progressive Socialist Party, told on Thursday "Voice of Lebanon" radio that the new political position of PSP head Walid Jumblatt is preventing the outbreak of any civil strife in Lebanon or any shift for the Syrian turmoil to Lebanon, and supporting Lebanese President Michel Suleiman's call for national dialogue. Shuhayeb denied any sort of skirmishing near Beirut Southern Suburb, saying there is coordination between Hizbullah and PSP in the region on the political and security levels. The deputy added that the 888 region has its own moral symbol and the lands in said region are not deserted; rather, the region includes an outpost for the Lebanese Army.
