The International Association of Prosecutors (IAP)

The International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) concluded its meeting in Beijing, China.

Public Prosecutor, IAP Vice President Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al-Buainain, attended the session which opened on September 10 and concluded yesterday, Saturday.

Attorney generals, ministers of justice, and prosecutors representing countries from all over the world discussed legal proceedings and the role of public prosecution amid growing demographic and technological shifts.

Dr. Al-Buainain met his Chinese counterpart and discussed ways of strengthening judicial cooperation and exchanging expertise.

The two sides agreed to expand cooperation and sign a memorandum of understanding which covers legal expertise, judicial cooperation and exchanging expertise.

The joint agreement is expected to be signed on the sidelines of the visit of the Chinese Public Prosecutor visit to Bahrain soon.

The IAP, an International Community of Prosecutors, aims essentially to set and raise standards of professional conduct and ethics for Prosecutors worldwide; promote the rule of law, fairness, impartiality and respect for human rights and improve international co-operation to combat crime.

Dr. Al-Buainain was elected as member of IAP Executive Committee in 2010 then vice president five years later.
