Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu tomorrow, Thursday, leaves for New York to participate in a meeting of heads of international organisations on Libya, slated for Friday, 26 August 2011. Convened by the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon the meeting would discuss successive developments in Libya in the wake of the rebels’ entry into the capital, Tripoli, and consider necessary measures and means to ensure a peaceful transition of power in Libya. Professor Ihsanoglu had earlier received a telephone call from the UN Scribe inviting him to take part in the meeting of heads of international organisations in New York. During the talks, both sides discussed the developments in Libya and agreed to continue consultations and coordination on the situation in the country.
