Ben Guerdane - Tap
Faced with the glaring absence of international relief organisations, the National Army continues providing assistance to some 4 thousand Libyan refugees still settled in camps set up between Ben Guerdane and Ras Jedir. Interventions of international organisations remain below expectations and seek only to build their reputation, said Colonel Mohamed Soussi. The National Army has set up an emergency plan in association with concerned ministries and took necessary measures to face up to all potential hazards, Mr. Soussi told TAP. Regarding medical care, the medical unit of the National Army has hosted till August 23, some 577 injured who, despite the seriousness of their injuries, managed to overcome the critical condition. This military hospital provides permanent medical care to refugees and also treats patients with chronic diseases requiring daily monitoring in camps. It also seeks to prevent any risk of epidemics or contagion in times of great affluence.
