An official source at the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) said that at 9:15 pm on Sunday, October 8, a Royal Bahraini Air Force (RBAF)’s fighter jet broke the sound barrier while conducting a night training exercise.

The aircraft’s exceeding the speed of sound resulted in a sonic boom which generated significant sound energy similar to explosions, the source added.

The source said that the citizens and residents should be reassured of the source of the loud sound they had heard on Sunday, away from any other interpretations.
