Presidential candidate Pedro Pablo Kuczynski is leading polls for the Peruvian presidential election to be held on June 5, scoring 41.1 percent in the latest Datum poll released Friday.
The winner of the first-round election on April 10, Keiko Fujimori, followed in close second place, with 40.4 percent.
The two politicians will have a face-off on June 5, after both failed to get 50 percent of the vote in the first round but finished ahead of the rest.
The Datum report stated that Kuczynski finds most of his support, among lower-earners, accounting for 62.3 percent of voting intentions from people in this class.
On the other hand, Fujimori does better among middle-class and wealthier voters, sharing 50 percent of the middle-class with Kuczynski, and claiming 50.3 percent of the wealthy.
On June 5, around 23 million Peruvians will go to vote for their next president with a term between 2016 and 2021.
