King Abdullah II of Jordan on Monday said that resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on basis of the two-state solution is the real gateway to bring about peace, security and stability in the Middle East. During a meeting with visiting Envoy of the Middle East Peace Quartet Committee, Tony Blair, the King stressed that the international community, European Union EU and the Quartet have an important role to set a suitable ground for the Palestinians and Israel to go back to the negotiations table to address all final status issues, Jordan Petra News Agency reported. Any peace settlement should arrive at an independent Palestinian state on pre-1967 borders, living in peace and security alongside Israel, King Abdullah asserted. The King and Blair tackled the latest developments in the region and efforts underway to revive the stalled peace process.
