Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American Affairs Ali Ahani and Foreign Minister of Paraguay Jorge Lara Castro discussed major international, regional and bilateral issues. During the meeting which was held in the Paraguayan capital of Asuncion on Friday, Ahani said the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches great importance to its relations with all Latin American states, including Paraguay. He said the two countries are currently studying several documents on bilateral cooperation, hoping that materialization of the documents would bring about a major development in Iran-Paraguay relations. For his part, the Paraguayan FM underlined the need for further expansion of all-out cooperation between the two nations. Iran’s deputy foreign minister arrived in Asuncion Friday to confer issues of mutual interest with senior officials of that Latin American state. Prior to his trip to Paraguay, Ahani visited Brazil and Uruguay where he discussed bilateral cooperation and international developments with officials of the two countries.
