The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi today unveiled important amendments of the Indian Community Welfare Fund, ICWF, in the UAE, which will be implemented from 1st September 2017.
Addressing a press conference on the subject, Navdeep Singh Suri, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the UAE, said that Indian fund in diplomatic missions was established by the Indian government in 2009 to cover emergency expenses of the Indian expatriate community. He pointed out that the fund's working procedure has been changed and modified by the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
Present on the occasion were Dinesh Kumar, First Secretary for Community Affairs and Economic and Commerce, Kapil Raj, Second Secretary for Passports, Information, Education and Culture, as well as media representatives.
