Clashes between Israeli forces invading a West Bank city and Palestinian residents erupted early Monday, resulting in dozens of injures from the Palestinian side, witnesses said. The Israeli forces fired rubber gunshots and tear gas in Hebron, injuring about 55 people. The Israeli forces arrested a wanted Palestinian activist during the raid. On Sunday, the Israeli forces rounded up dozens of Hamas supporters and members in Hebron in one of the largest raids in years. The West Bank arrests came as tension was high in the Hamas- controlled Gaza Strip, with Israel carrying out airstrikes and Palestinian militants firing back rockets from Gaza. The attacks killed 15 Palestinians and an Israeli resident. Israel accused militants from Gaza of being behind deadly attacks in the Red Sea resort of Eilat Thursday.
