Russia\'s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin stressed Russia\'s total rejection of the draft resolution made by the US and European countries concerning Syria at the UN Security Council. Russia Today TV quoted Churkin as describing the draft resolution as not objective as it suggests exerting pressure on the Syrian leadership only, adding that \"We are concerned that such a resolution might push the opposition forces toward escalation. That\'s why we totally reject it.\" He added that the Western draft resolution didn\'t at all touch upon the issue of the necessity of holding political dialogue and didn\'t call the opposition to start such dialogue with the government.
