Interim Prime Minister Beji Caïd Essebsi received, on Tuesday in Tunis, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Steven Vanackere, who is paying his second visit in Tunisia since last March. Following the talk, Mr. Vanackere said that the aim of his visit was to gather the Belgian diplomats and ambassadors in the Arab countries to think, during two days, on the positive role that the Belgian diplomacy could play in relation to the marking events of the "Arab Spring" ushered in by Tunisia. These events, he added, "deeply and fundamentally belong to the Arab peoples first, but also to the international community and all peoples of the planet who have an interest to see and understand developments in the Arab world." The Belgian FM said that Tunisia's choice to host the conference, which will gather some 40 Belgian diplomats, is also a choice motivated by the Tunisian exemplary hospitality and the friendship relations that have always tied the two countries.
