At least six people died Friday in separate attacks in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, according to police sources. Two soldiers were killed when a group of gunmen attacked their checkpoint in the western al-Nahrouan area in Mosul, 400 kilometres north of Baghdad. Two police officers were slain when armed men opened fire on their checkpoint in the nearby Yermuk area. One man was killed by gunmen in the western part of Mosul. In northern Mosul, one civilian was killed and three people wounded in a blast targeting police forces.
