A facelift can sometimes not only transform you beyond recognition, but also ring in trouble.
Three women travelling from China to South Korea realised this the hard way. The plastic surgery they received left them unrecognisable from their passport photos, which resulted in their detention at an airport in South Korea.
The women flew to South Korea during China's annual Golden Week holiday to go under the knife.
After the operation, when they tried to board a plane to return home, the immigration officers barred them from flying as the women were unable to prove their identities.
Their faces were swollen up from their procedures. And they wore big white bandages over their heads.
Officers could not confirm they were the same people in their passport pictures because the two looked nothing alike, according to AsiaWire.
The three women sitting down at the airport with their passports in hands went viral. The photo accumulated over 51,000 'likes' and was shared by thousands of people around the world.
South Korea's plastic surgery industry is growing popular, as the procedure is very cheap there.
