The 'Youth loving their country' group called for the Palestinian people to participate in the vigil to show solidarity to Sheikh Khedr Adnan, who has been on hunger strike for 51 days. The vigil, called “ wake up and don’t let him die,” will be held on Tuesday afternoon in Manara Square, Ramallah. The group said in a statement: “for 51 days Khedr Adnan has been knocking on the walls of his cell to draw a new page in the history of his nation. Be with us, to tell him that we support him." The statement also reads: “We don’t want brother Khedr Adnan to be another martyr of the movement, we don't want him to follow his 53 comrades. Although we believe that dying for the sake of one’s country is one of the highest aspirations, we want a long life for all activists, so that they can haunt whoever imprisoned one of us.” NGOs and official, national and Islamic forces announced that at noon on Tuesday, when Khedr will enter his fifty-second day of strike, a complete pause of five minutes will take place in all institutions, as the traffic will stop and students and workers willl stand in front of their schools and work places. A sit-in in front of the headquarters of the International Red Cross will also be held in solidarity and respect of Adnan with the aim of pushing the international community to immediately intervene for his release.
