U.S. Foreign Ministry warned its citizens again against al-Qaeda’s threat in the Islamic Maghreb on Mauritania, calling them to take "extreme caution" due to increased activities by Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb. The U.S. State Department, said in a new warning published on its website, on Thursday that "Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb continues to demonstrate its intention to carry out attacks against foreign nationals, including American citizens." In the same context, the Foreign Ministry mentioned the U.S. attack which was carried out on June 24 on the camp's "Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb", North West of Mali, in the framework of a joint operation between the Mauritanian and Malian security forces that killed 15 people, among this "terrorist" group.
