Gaza - Mohammed Habib
The Israeli military said on Friday morning that three rockets launched from the Gaza Strip landed near Ashkelon city in south Israel. A military spokesperson was quoted by Israeli radio as saying that armed Palestinian men fired the rockets targeting the city, but they landed in the coastal area of Ashkelon. The spokesperson claimed as well that the missile attack did not cause any human casualties or material damage. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. In recent days, Palestinian resistance groups have claimed hands in shelling southern Israeli towns, in response to repeated attempts by Jewish radicals to storm the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Palestinian Martyr Battalions of Abu Ali Mustapha, the military wing of the Palestinian Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said it was behind the firing of a couple of mortar rounds targeting an Israeli unit in east Gaza.
