Imran Khan is planning to lead thousands of his supporters in a march to the Waziristan region of Pakistan in September to demonstrate against the drone attacks. The Pakistani Taliban has a strong presence in the area, and while its members are the targets of drone strikes, a senior leader of the movement has reportedly threatened to kill Khan if he goes ahead with the march because he is a liberal. The threat comes as a surprise to many in Pakistan, who have criticised Imran Khan for not speaking out against the Taliban. His critics have dubbed him \"Taliban Khan\" because of his ties with conservative Islamists. These ties could help him attract right-wing voters in elections to be held later this year or early next year.
