A Syrian man was badly wounded on Thursday by a landmine at the illegal border-crossing of Al-Buni in northern Lebanon, according to security sources. Ahmed Mustafa Khodr was injured while attempting to cross the border into Wadi Khaled from the Syrian town of Al-Mushayrfeh, sources said. He was immediately transported by the Lebanese Red Cross to a hospital in Al-Qoubaiyat. He will be transferred to the governmental hospital in Tripoli due to the severity of his injury, sources added. The Syrian army has allegedly laced the Lebanese-Syrian border with landmines in an attempt to curb supposed arms smuggling and the entry of defectors into Lebanon.
