An official at the Information Office of the General Directorate of Public Security informed Arabstoday that a Syrian was arrested upon his arrival at Beirut International Airport at the request of the Lebanese Army and he has been handed over to the army immediately after official procedures were carried out according to Lebanese law. Syrian opposition activist named Zakaria Motlaq aged 26 years, who was on Lebanon\'s wanted list, was arrested on Sunday on arrival from Cairo. It is not known the precise reasons and circumstances as to why he was wanted by the Lebanese authorities. Sources close to the detained man told Arabstoday that Motlaq suffers various injuries from his participation in battles which took place in various parts of Syria including Baba Amr in Homs. Commenting on the arrest, the Syrian Association for the Defence of Human Rights based in Lebanon, condemned the detention of Motlaq statement and expressed deep concern about the serious risks that the Syrian activist Zakaria Moltlaq could be exposed to in case he is handed over to the Syrian authorities.
