The Syrian Foreign Ministry announced today, Monday 18th, that it recognizes the State of Palestine on the borders of the 4th of June 1967. An official source at the Ministry said in a statement that the Syrian Arab Republic recognizes the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of maintaining the legitimate Palestinian rights. It also stated that it will deal with the PLO in Damascus, considering it as an embassy, starting from the date that the statement was published.
