Khartoum - Abed Algayom Ashmeag
The head of Sudan’s Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), Mohamed Osman Al-Mirghani held a meeting with the entire cabinet. Al-Mirghani called all involved to implement the action plan that was signed with the ruling National Congress Party (NCP). He also stressed that ministers have to take responsibility for these actions that are taking place at a \"critical time\" for Sudan, actions which he maintains have to be taken in a transparent and open environment. He also highlighted the need to meet on a weekly basis to discuss the issues linked to the action plan and current events. Observers consider the participation of DUP, headed by Al-Mirghani in the new Sudanese cabinet, after his opposition to the regime during the past years, is a political signal that indicates major changes in the Sudanese political arena. It’s scheduled that Al-Mirghani will meet Arab and foreign ambassadors in Khartoum, Tuesday, in presence of members of his party.
