New collaborations between Sudan and Saudi Arabia in security efforts are bount to improve bilateral relations. The Red Sea Police forces in Sudan prepared for the celebration of launching a logistical support unit presented by Saudi Arabia. The unit consists of marine boats and 4×4 vans for combating smugglers alongside the coast of the Red Sea. The equipment referred to was received in ProtoSudan Port within the framework of-Saudi Sudanese security coordination plan to combat smuggling. Sources told \"Arabstoday\" that a high military figure from the Ministry of the Interior will attend the event in addition to many other officials from the Sudanese interior ministry including General Seif El-Din Omar Suliman, the manager of the costumes department.        Specialists in coastal security regarded the Saudi support as a step forward in protecting the coasts of the Red Sea and a notable advance in combating smuggling and human traffic. Meanwhile, the Sudanese Vice President, Dr. Adam Yousef, opened the Tourism and Shopping Festival in PortoSudan on Thursday that is to continue till the 15th February 2012. The viceroy of the Red Sea Province, Mohamed Taher Ila, announced that the programme of the celebration includes a marine show and the opening of a Heritage Exhibition.
