Moqtadar Al-Sadr Head of El Sadr movement, renewed his demands today calling for the withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Iraq.  Al-Sadr threatened to target US military bases and their instructors who train  soldiers to "torture prisoners" and "kill innocent people", blaming the US troops for spreading "terrorism" and "sectarian violence." Sadr demanded the U.S. forces in Iraq "get out of our Holy Land now, return to your families and live peacefully in your homes and allow us to live in our country united," he added, "Enough of the occupation of our beloved country, go with your weapons we don't need them nor need you. We are able to fight terrorism and unite Iraq; we don’t want rules from you nor training. There is no good in a nation that accepts occupation”. El Sadr added "the US claims freedom, but we still live under restrictions, the US call for democracy but we still live under the threat of dictatorship" El Sadr added "I talk to you from a country which you have suffocated for years. Iraq has been made to bear unemployment, corruption, violence and economic waste. He went on to asked, "will you accept someone supervising or occupying your country!? Does democracy give you the right to occupy us, while we didn't for your help!?" On the 6th of August Moqtada Al Sadr announced any forces which remain in Iraq will be considered a "brutal occupier that must be fought and resisted", stressing a government that accepts the existence of Americans in Iraq to train is seen as a "weak" government.
