Former Egyptian presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabahi, announced Wednesday that he is to establish the Egyptian Popular Mainstream party during  a TV interview with Al Haya TV. Sabahi said in a press statement seen by Arabstoday, that he is inviting all Egyptians, to join this mainstream party and he will set out the ambitions and ideology of the party and announce these to the general public. A number of youth leaders have joined Sabahi in establishing this middle-ground party including the director of Hamdeen Sabahi's election campaign  Hossam Mo'nes, Mostafa Shoman, and Nora Helmy. The intention of the party is to provide a political  middle-ground between the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood and Egypt's military establishment which are the two entities currently ruling the country.
