Press secretary of the Yemeni President, Yahya Aarasi,  survived on Monday, an assassination attempt while returning to his home in the capital, Sanaa. The press secretary of President Hadi told Arabstoday that gunmen blocked his way while he was returning to his home in the neighborhood of Senyna, west of the capital Sanaa, and fired  and automatic weapon at his car. The press secretary said that he escaped death by a miracle and that one of the bullets was embedded in the car seat he was in, pointing out that he escaped the militants by accelerating his car away from the heavy firing and that the militants tried to give chase but failed to catch up with him. Aarasi went on to say that the gunmen, who fled, were traveling in two cars carrying the private number plates of the Yemeni army. He denied the existence of hostility between him  and any party. He believed that the action was political, not criminal, and perhaps related to his work with the President of the Republic Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi. He said that an inquiry commission headed by the deputy minister of the interior has initiated an investigation into the incident.
