Ramallah - Sona Al-Deak
The Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) members detained by Israel announced that they will launch a hunger strike in protest against the delay of the national reconciliation process. The PLO prisoners urged Hamas to speed up the reconciliation effort with political faction Fatah, stressing that they are living in dire conditions in Israeli prisons. The detainees also called on Palestinians to take to the streets and demand the liberation of Jerusalem and the prevention of \"Judaisation\", as well as to show solidarity with the Palestinian and Arab prisoners in Israel. The prisoners reacted to Al-Qaradawi\'s previous “fatwa”, which urged non-Palestinian Muslims not to visit Jerusalem as long as it remains under occupation, saying: \"We are waiting for a fatwa that helps strengthen and support Jerusalem and Palestine, as well as resist the Israeli occupation and Judaisation. We also hope that the Arabs will develop a sense of national and religious responsibility towards rescuing Jerusalem.\"
