A Pakistanti judicial commission says Husain Haqqani, Pakistan\'s former ambassador to the United States, sought US help in 2011 to stave off a possible coup. The findings were submitted to Pakistan\'s Supreme Court Tuesday after months of hearings, The New York Times reported. The commission said Haqqani sent a memo to Mike Mullen, then chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in May 2011 after the death of Osama bin Laden, seeking US help to avert a possible coup. Haqqani denies any link to the memo and says he is being hounded for the perception that he is pro-American. He said he will challenge the report, which he alleges the commission is using to distract from corruption allegations against the son of the chief justice, the newspaper said.
