Cairo – Akram Ali
Former Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak's chief defence lawyer Farid Al-Deeb, left Cairo Monday evening for the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Middle East Airlines (MEA), according to eyewitnesses. El-Deeb’s departure came after he attended Mubarak’s trial’s session on charges of corruption and killing protesters during the January 25 Revolution. Sources from his office told ‘Arabstoday’ that he gave his employees open- ended vacations and had closed the office since Monday evening; however, he asked them to follow the developments in the trial. Lawyer Mohammed El-Gendi, confirmed in a press release that El-Deeb traveled to Lebanon after receiving many death threats.
