Cairo – Akram Ali
Egyptian presidential candidate Amr Moussa called on the Supreme Council of Armed Forces and the parliament to speed up the issuance of the law on the presidential elections. Former Secretary General of the Arab League recently tweeted that he plans to propose to the Advisory Council to hold early presidential elections, in compliance with the demands of the revolutionary forces. Moussa added that he believes the next president should be elected for a four-year term, with accordance to the Constitutional Declaration, and that it should not interfere with the process of drafting the new constitution. He then added that it would be better if the new constitution is drafted in the presence of the newly elected president and parliament.
