The Moroccan education minister, Mohammed al-Wafa, has issued an official memo to allocate one hour on Thursday, May 10 for the Holy City of Jerusalem in Morocco\'s educational institutions. According to this decision, an hour will be allocated for teaching a topic regarding Jerusalem in all the governmental and private schools in Morocco. Al-Wafa issued this memo from his position in the Independence Party, which is the first political party in Morocco. The decision of the ministry of education came at the behest of King Mohammed VI, who ordered the minister to take the necessary measures to prepare the international campaign aiming at breaking the siege on Jerusalem. The ministry has been provided with the subjects, which include the history of Jerusalem and the Israeli measures aimed at Judaising the city. These initiatives are in addition to assisting and supporting the Palestinian people, as Jerusalem is the capital of an independent Palestine. These initiatives were announced by the Palestinian embassy in Rabat. The ministry said: \"Jerusalem holds a special place in the hearts of all Moroccans. The allocated hour on Thursday will be an opportunity for recognising the situation of Jerusalem, the siege imposed on it, as well as enriching the values and practices of fraternity with Jerusalem and its people\". The same source in the ministry, also called for Moroccans to support the international campaign, which is scheduled to be launched on May 9, through the involvement of students and teachers. Mosques will also join the campaign through Friday prayers which will be on the same subject.
