Libyan security sources have stated that an Iranian Red Crescent delegation kidnapped in Benghazi was hosted by one of the security battalions in the city, and that its members were in good health. According to a Libyan news agency, security officials are questioning the detained team about the intentions behind their visit to Libya, stating that they would be released if they were found to be innocent. The team is reportedly being treated well and not subjected to any abuse by the battalion. Meanwhile, Benghazi was rocked by an explosion early Wednesday, targeting the former military intelligence headquarters in the city. One of the security personnel, Alaa Salem, said that the explosion - which was heard across the city - took place early Wednesday without causing casualties but that it destroyed the building and some neighbouring houses. Salem added that the situation in Benghazi was unstable and no one knew why. He demanded the authorities \"impose a state of emergency to control the country before a disaster occurred that may result in the deaths of innocent people\". Salem explained: \"The country is going through a severe crisis, more serious than from the stage of the revolution. The enemy and those responsible for these crimes are unknown. The situation is frightening and confusing at the present time.”
