Military police forces and a number of central security forces invaded Tahrir Square on Monday afternoon in a bid to disperse sit-ins by force. Witnesses told Arabstoday that military police forces suddenly attacked the square from all directions, while shooting in the air to break-up sit-ins, in addition to arresting a few protestors as well. They added that the police also removed tents that were set up in the round garden in the square, which led protestors to flee to the Omar Makram mosque in fear of getting arrested. Protestors were badly injured during the clashed with the military police forces.
